Cincinnati Poetry Slam is a poetry slam was founded by legendary,

award-winning spoken word artist and entrepreneur,

Kimberly “DuWaup” Bolden.

Cincinnati Poetry Slam is presented by THRIVE and powered by Elementz.

Cincinnati Poetry Slam showcases artists

from around Cincinnati, the midwest, and beyond. This event

supports unity in the community by providing opportunities for

poets, spoken word artists, community members, and business owners

to connect in a space where all feel welcome and supported.

As we all know, the power of unity is undeniable.


Kimberly “DuWaup” Bolden is a nationally known poet

and spoken word artist who has been writing creatively,

performing, and hosting artist showcase events for almost two decades.

DuWaup has toured and performed in numerous cities around the country alongside

some of today’s most prolific and profound artists. She is the founder and Executive Producer of Cincinnati Poetry Slam as well as the Marketing Manager and Poetry Programs Coordinator for Elementz Hip Hop Cultural Center located in Cincinnati, OH. She has won spoken word competitions and awards, both as a solo artist and as a member of spoken word groups and collectives.  DuWaup has collaborated with other creatives on major spoken word events, recording projects, stage plays, web series, and publications.  More independent projects and collaborations can be expected from DuWaup in the near future.
